Seeking Alpha Refund Policy

Disclosure: FinPins may earn a commission if you buy through links in this post, at no extra cost to you. FinPins is independent and not endorsed by Seeking Alpha. This is not investment advice.

Before you pay for any plan, the Seeking Alpha refund policy is worth reading carefully, because it is stricter than many people expect. Seeking Alpha's help center and Article 20 of its Terms of Use say the same thing: subscription fees are non-refundable unless stated otherwise in writing. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not normally return money for the period you already paid for.

That makes the free trial and the timing of cancellation far more important than any refund request. This guide summarises every rule we found on Seeking Alpha's own pages, checked in October 2026.

Test before you pay

Premium includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers, then $269 for the first year (list $299).

What "Non-Refundable" Means in Practice

Suppose you buy Premium for a year and decide after two months that you are not using it. You can cancel, and you will keep Premium access until the end of the year you paid for, but you should not expect a pro-rated refund. Seeking Alpha's terms state that once your initial paid subscription starts, it does not provide refunds for initial orders or recurring payments.

The same logic applies to Alpha Picks. Our how to cancel Alpha Picks guide explains the steps, but cancelling there also only stops the renewal.

The Free Trial Is Your Real Safety Net

Because paid periods are not refunded, the 7-day Premium trial is the practical way to avoid paying for something you will not use. Three rules matter:

If you arrive through a subscriber's referral link, Seeking Alpha's referral programme offers a 14-day Premium trial instead of seven days.

Paid Trials Are Different

Some services, PRO among them, use a discounted paid trial rather than a free one. Seeking Alpha's help center is explicit that paid trial fees are non-refundable and that the subscription renews at the regular rate unless cancelled before the trial ends. Treat a paid trial as a small purchase, not a free look.

The 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee (Investing Groups Only)

The one written refund exception we found applies to Investing Groups, the analyst-led communities on Seeking Alpha. First-time subscribers on an annual Investing Group plan can cancel within the first 30 days and be refunded for the unused 11 months. To qualify, the terms say you must cancel no later than one day before the 30-day period ends. Monthly Investing Group plans, and some lower-priced services, are not covered. See Seeking Alpha Investing Groups for more.

This guarantee does not extend to Premium, Alpha Picks or PRO in the pages we checked.

Considering Alpha Picks?

Alpha Picks is $499/yr list ($449 via our offer link as of Oct 2026). Fees are non-refundable, so read the methodology first.

How to Cancel So You Are Not Charged Again

Log in, click your profile icon, open Account Settings and use the subscription section to cancel. Seeking Alpha's terms also allow cancellation by email at subscriptions@seekingalpha.com. Our step-by-step how to cancel Seeking Alpha guide covers desktop and app routes. Save the confirmation email.

What If You Were Charged by Mistake?

The written policy leaves no automatic refund, but Seeking Alpha does publish a support email (subscriptions@seekingalpha.com) and a phone line on its price-update notices (1-347-509-6837). If you believe a charge was an error, for example you signed up on the wrong account, contact support promptly with your invoice. Any refund in that situation is at Seeking Alpha's discretion; we cannot promise one.

App Store Purchases

If you subscribed inside the iPhone app, the purchase is an Apple in-app subscription, and Apple's own subscription settings handle cancellation for it. Refund requests for App Store purchases follow Apple's process.

A Simple Plan to Avoid Paying for Something You Do Not Want

Before you start a trial, set two calendar reminders: one at the midpoint and one two days before the trial ends. At the midpoint, decide whether you have actually used the service. At the second reminder, cancel if not. For annual plans, add a reminder two weeks before renewal.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Does Seeking Alpha give refunds?

Generally no. Fees are non-refundable unless stated otherwise in writing. The written exception is the 30-day guarantee for first-time annual Investing Group subscribers.

Can I get a refund on Seeking Alpha Premium?

Not under the standard policy. Cancel during the 7-day free trial if you do not want to be charged.

If I cancel, do I lose access immediately?

No. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access until then.

Is Alpha Picks refundable?

The pages we checked list no refund or money-back guarantee for Alpha Picks, so assume the fee is non-refundable.

How late can I cancel a free trial?

Seeking Alpha's terms say no later than one day before the free trial expires.

Can I take the free trial twice?

No. Seeking Alpha allows one free trial per service per lifetime.

How We Researched This Page

We built this comparison from each company's own pricing, plan and help pages, checked in October 2026. Seeking Alpha figures (Premium $299 list, $269 first year through our link, 7-day free trial for new subscribers, Alpha Picks $499 list with $449 shown via our offer link as of Oct 2026, bundle $718 first year, PRO $2,400 list) come from Seeking Alpha's offer pages and help center. Where a competitor's page could not be read directly, we say so and either describe the feature in general terms or link to the official page rather than guess. Performance figures quoted by any vendor are that vendor's own claims, not independent audits. Prices and features change, so always confirm the final price at checkout before you subscribe.
